At Independence Academy,
we’re more than just a school.
We’re a family. Literally.

We’re a family-owned and operated Montessori and Reggio-inspired school nestled on 13 acres in Broadway, North Carolina. What started as a dream to create something different, something deeply intentional, has become a second home for children and families, especially those navigating the ever-changing life of military service.
Our own children grew up here. They learned to care for animals, make confident choices, think critically, and speak kindly. Now teenagers, we see the lasting impact of those early years every day in our home, and we know without a doubt that these values work because we’ve lived them.
